Well they might be available as singles sooner than later, I sent Robinson a message and this what I got back!.

Upon asking about a different product, I thought I'd throw my hat in the ring and started asking about singles in the 08e and he replied back :

Dear,

We might sell the 08 diode seperated in by end of June.

Regards,
Robinson

I was hoping to pick up one of these 08 instead of going down the nubm44 route, but I don't know if I can wait a month before my next project!

Just to be clear concerning my last post concerning the REP comment. I wasn't speaking against Red in any way but commenting on how drastic things have changed since that fiasco;) Red is seriously active here and puts out a LOT of information.
I only post this because there were no comments and I don't want a misunderstanding. While it is true that I preferred the pre-rep mess way this is the way things are now. It's just a bit shocking to see such high numbers all the way around including myself. Not so easy for someone to discern what is what anymore since it's given out for anything and everything regardless of content.

@ Pman
Things have changed, it seems like we used to have more super knowledgeable people, I feel like the place is half empty a lot, like we could/should be doing more.
It does feel a bit sad to me, but the state of humanity and the greatest free nation is sad too, I like my laser distraction, I wish more people had more to comment, I would like to be learning every day, I wish people were showing me a better way and something cool each day, but often it seems ....slow, and that is sad.

The 140, 7875, 7a75, nubm06, nubm05t, nubm44 all work well with a G7 and 3X expander from SANWU, but if these new cans are part of the backing that changes our 12mm module and lens arrangement.

It looks like the can is part if the backing, like the 05t, 06, 07e diodes backing is silver, that's how this can on the 08e looks.

Now the Gball of the 07e makes a 25mm x 50mm spot at 5 meters while the nubm06 Gball makes a 25mm by 5 mm line at 5 meters.

My point is we may not want the lens that comes with the 08e and the diode is only 12% stronger.

These may be prototypes, or new anti tamper design, but I would like to know if the can is formed of the backing material or attached and what that lens is like.

The G7 and 3X from SANWU is a easy and fun combo.

I built a test rig and the G7 + 3X works well with all our diodes.

I don't know what Techhood is doing but now it's up to $1600.00 USD on eBay. But the fact that it's another diodes in the NUBM line and so far almost all of them have similar specs with only slight variations I'm not holding my breath. Another thing is Techhood post diodes they don't even have in stock. Last time I tried to buy the 06 block from them they ended up having to refund my money after 3 weeks of saying "just a few more days". They only just posted pics of the actual NUBM08 and they still have pics of the NUBM41T1 mixed in there.

I wonder what it takes to grow the crystal gain medium on a strained lattice, I know they introduce trash at the edges to define them, and there are a lot of tricks to it, but I wish China's Osram plant will build diodes to compete with Japanese companies, China should be building start to finish projectors pretty soon, they should be selling diodes direct.

They already make tons of semiconductor pumped phosphor lighting, I'm ready for cheap and plentiful Chinese lasers, these are all Japanese built laser diodes and Chinese assembled projectors.

Why Chinese companies don't build start to finish? A no compete agreement? It must have a time limit.

I'm not sure why they dont. There was that thing a while ago about how Cree held the patent rights for the the Gallium Nitride semiconductor structures that make high power blue laser possible and Nichia was infringing on they're patent. So I'm sure a lot of it is patent based. But I'm sure there is lots of research going on for a work around and different processes that work also as well.
I'm sure Tech hood is trying to find a way to sell as many as possible before people figure out they aren't worth the price they are charging. Even if they do produce 1 more watt than the next best diode it won't be worth paying twice as much.

A Japanese scientist invinted the blue substrate, that's what I thought, but your Chinese led flashlights have good copies, so they could make direct lasers, maybe because China assembles for all the projector companies they signed a no compete, I have see some fake Chinese laser projectors, but I have been told they are a rip off.

It was Shuji Nakamura who invented the high power blue LED and Laser. I'm not sure where he was working when he did it but he got the Nobel prize. I'm sure other companies have patents based on his discoveries and there's lots of joint agreements between all the big manufacturers. Most of the big lawsuits happened a decade ago. So who knows what kind of politics are behind who gets to build what now.

I want a PLPM4-450 to play with, a heat pipe cpu super heat sink or what ever it takes, but that little 1 inch by 1.25 inch 50 watt monster needs a big expander pair in front of it, mount it in a tool box I don't care, I just want to see it blaze. Maybe a 3 inch double concave and a 6 inch pcx, it would be the toolbox of flaming lightning.

Yes I want one also. You know I have all the heatpipe cpu coolers you could ever want. Just let me know

Yes I want some.

I have some TEC pads, flebay sells them, and a bunch of finned sinks, but it gets to a point that you need forced air and the heat pipes let you remote from a small area to a larger one.

What kind do you have, can you email me some pics, I will need some later I know so I may as well get some now.

Yes Billy it's all smoke and mirrors. They probably saw we were about to order and they got nervous they would actually have to fill the order and that's why they jacked up the price
