They will ALL sell.  This is just quite a bit of money for many people.  After they figure out that these 6X's are still very hard to come by (and the Kryton Smooths are almost impossible to find), they will sell.

People see all of the threads about "group buys" and "stores" having the 6X sled in their inventory and think that more will be here "tomorrow."  However, have you noticed the distinct lack of successful GB's and the number of 6X sleds actually in stock in the "stores"?  They think that the 6X's will go the way of the PHR and that in a few months we will be getting these for $12.  Most people don't realize that the PHR's are from a defunct technology (HD DVD).  The sleds are "extras" because no one has a use for them any more.   The sleds are all "damaged" because they were stripped from HD DVD units that were headed for the scrap heap.  The 6X sleds we got were ALL QC rejects, NOT "extra" first-run sleds.

I would LOVE for the 6X to get less expensive.  However, I do not believe that is going to happen.  When the next diode comes online, these will be used until they are gone.  Drive makers don't order 50,000 units if they are only planning on building 35,000 units.  Diode manufacturers don't initiate production runs without orders from manufacturers.   Drive sellers don't recall a viable drive just because a better one came out.  They just discount the existing drives until they are gone.  Their manufacture has probably already been stopped.  Industries know how to use up stock at the end of a technology.  HD DVD's demise ran a different course, complete with promised support for a year.  That won't happen with the 6X.

Dave,  I received my order today.  Thanks for the lightning fast delivery. On the red module, can I assume that the candy striper wire is the positive? Also, what type of hosts have you used these in?  Thanks again.     Bill

Of course you can. If you replace the "flashlight" part with the module, you can "dazzle and/or blind your attackers as well [smiley=evil.gif]

Yes the "white" wire is positive.

You can use the module in any host that it will fit into an that you can get the needed voltage out of. I have used a great variety of hosts with full AixiZ modules.

It should be heat sinked.

Re: Why? -- It has started to feel like a "job."

I need to get back to what got me most interested in this hobby in the first place -- doing experiments, figuring out how to make new and different hosts work, and collecting gas lasers.

I have all the parts for a RGY scanner just sitting in a shed.  I have my violet spirograph 90% completed in my closet.  I need to go back to what was fun for ME!

In the past, when I made a laser in a new host, I usually sold it/them. It will probably just go back to being two a month of rare or unique lasers, rather than 14 lasers a month, of which three models in the sale have multiple copies (like now).

I completely understand. It's why you dont' see me selling a ton of lasers and I'm sure that's why jayrob is not either.
