Let this thread die pls. Kits are now for sale. Look for the new thread in the BST section.

Re: FS: Trustfire 18650 Copper Kits

Awesome! Just in time, the 445 diode from my murdered build needs a new home. Ill take an aluminum kit.

Re: FS: Trustfire 18650 Copper Kits

Hello Mohrenberg.

I might be quite interested in one of the aluminium kits.
Sorry if I have to ask, but what do I need the "hex-wrench" for?

To make a pointer like in your video, one would still need:
-a diode
-a battery
-a driver
-a lens
Correct?

What lens is that you got there? Does it thread right into the heatsink?
Or is that simply an aixiz module inside your heasink?

That's 20$+shipping though right? Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.
Would you ship int'l and if so, for how much?

Thanks

lol the hex wrench is for the set screw on the heat sink. I just use the aixiz lens and an aixz module. I'll update the list when i get to a computer. I'm on my phone riht now

Re: FS: Trustfire 18650 Copper Kits

seems like a really small build. Do you think it will have shorter run times than the Guidesman 18650 ?

It depends on how you assemble it and what current you are running.

You likely wont be able to sink the driver in these and the heat sink is much smaller so if it was the same diode and driver setting with the driver sinked in the guidesman then yes the runtimes will be shorter.

The run time is more dependent on the build then the host. If your not heat sinking the driver for a high power 445nm then dont worry about the runtime from host to host because the driver will be the first to go anyway.

Re: FS: Trustfire 18650 Copper Kits

Runtime depends not only on the host. If you make a low power 445nm the runtime will be much longer maybe indefinitely.

Yeah after speaking with a few others ,the driver heat sink really does make all the difference allowing you to have longer run times. Cool tail cap and o rings though.

Re: FS: Trustfire 18650 Copper Kits

i think no matter what you do the run time is definitely going to be shorter than the guidesman, that thing just has a massive heat sink. A 1600mW 445nm still has like a 6 minute run time in the guidesman before warming up (according to DTR)

But the fact that the copper heat sink sit against the pill which is threaded into the host helps a lot to transfer the heat to the surface. I haven't even tested the run-time yet, I'll turn it on and see how long it takes to heat up. I've got the microdrive maxed out so it may over heat before the laser heats up, we'll see.

Re: FS: Trustfire 18650 Copper Kits

I would love to know too, might swap my PHR out and stick it in the Trustfire and use the Guidsman one for a 445 (when i get the funds) :D

A posability for the GITD o-ring, if your using it as a flashlight and it goes out, you open it up drop the o-ring Ahhh there it is :) mabe ????

You would also need a blank Aixiz module that your diode presses into, and that the lens screws into.
The price is $20 shipped in the USA. Intl orders will have to pay additional $5 for shipping costs.
The lens is an aixiz 445 lens, it threads into an aixiz module inside the heat sink. The hex wrench is to tighten the set screw which holds the aixiz module in place. they onyl cost me $0.07ea. so i just buy them in bulk and throw them in with packages.

Re: FS: Trustfire 18650 Copper Kits

I've got to go rewire the build. I've got the wires spliced with shrink tubes in like 3 different places (every time you see me with a new 445 build, it's got the same parts recycled from the last build) and i put it together last night with no solder (i scrouged from other electornics) and a soldering iron with a tip that's about 1cm long.

while i'm down in the basement i'm going to see if i can fit a small sink inside the pill for the driver to be mounted on. I've got some pretty small aluminum stock so if i can get it cut into a half circle i may be able to work something out to get the driver heat sinked.
