Nice!
I would love to have the 200mW bluray repaired. I am pretty sure reflections from the lens are killing the diodes, and I'm not sure if a glass lens would resolve the issue. :thinking: And, I would also love to buy one of your ~70-100mW green modules when you get them (even if they don't test well). I should be able to stop by this weekend to drop off the bluray, I'll call ya'.

For the record, those beam shots of the multi-colored Argon don't do it justice. It's absolutely beautiful in-person. Wish I could afford that one.

Let me know. I may be "gone" next weekend. My roommate's daughter and grandchildren are coming for a visit. I usually try to be scarce when that happens. Let's hope that the green module get here this week then. We could even handle it through the mail. With the price of fuel, postage is probably cheaper ;)

I have a 405-G-1 lens on hand so you can see what the beam looks like and by how much the output climbs with one ;) All of my violets over ~100mW have them now. Less current, more light :evil:

And I agree. Even though that picture is really cool looking, it isn't even close to the beauty of those beams in person.

but as an addendum,

I have both old and new style Dorcy's with lenses, heat sinks and drivers available for $70. If you need/want a diode with it:

PHR add $10
LCC add $10
6X add $60
8X add $175 (I have two of these available)
12X add $205 (I have one on hand and a couple more coming this week)

If you want/need the diode pressed into the aiXiz or the heat sink (depending on the style you choose) I will do that for you for free

i have put the dorcy jr 12x together and everything looks great and is working fine:yh: hope i get my kenometer lite soon so i can check its power :evil:

not yet i should really order one of those lenses asap and yea i burned my finger focusing lol i should buy/make a focus ring adapter for it.

at first i was testing it with a 3V battery and it looked a bit dim so i got scared that i blew it, but then i used a fully charged battery and it was like WOOW and it started to burn my desk
so i gues 3v is to low to power a 12x with flexdrive (i should have done some math before testing:angel:) o well it turned out great

i just need to re-check my current again i tought i put it on 410/415ma kinda stupid to forget lol

Dave, you should know that I received the laser today. Thank you for packing it so well. I'm surprised you didn't charge me for the cost of packing peanuts. The thing is much larger than I thought! Oh yeah, and thanks for that extra little gift! I can't rep you again, because of the system, so I'll be writing a short review of your packing skillz.

Now I've got several thousand packing peanuts to pick up off my floor..

actually I should go buy some acetone to get these all dissolved...

Thanks for giving me this opportunity to learn about a whole new kind of laser!
