Well price will depend on what I put it in
It is the diode driver combo from my signature. I removed it from a host because someone was offering me alot of money for a 445nm build and i didn't have a spare host at the moment so i removed it... it is in perfect condition.

if you want over 200mW then just buy from a reseller like lazerer. no member will be able to even come close to that price

Well if the hosts weren't that ugly I would have already bought the 500mW version from lazerer for just $100.... Maybe if someone had a used one for a lower price I would swallow the bad looks...

Norbyx, I'd like to help you out. But, your spending price seems low. IDK is Laserer is using a module or what in the "500mW 405nm". But, I can tell you that I'm quite incredulous toward the idea of a 500mW S06J laser for $100.
Here's a basic breakdown of what a custom handheld costs us, the builders:
Diode w/ G-2 Lens: $96
Cheap boost driver: $20 + shipping
Cheap host: $10
Heatsink Cheap: $20
Total: $146 + shipping
Plus batteries, charger, safety glasses, shipping for LPM in not available....
As you see, the costs add up tremendously when building a laser ACTUALLY capable of making 500mW. These costs don't even come close to what building a REAL CUSTOM laser. We haven't added in a focus knob, a really cool host, better sinking for higher currents, cost of solder, flux, wire, shrink tubing, etc..
I hope this puts things into perspective for you.

U can build a budget laser that will do just fine:
Host, Heat sink and Driver: C6 JAD kit - $35.00 : Mohgasm LLC, Have you experienced one lately? $35.00
Module Lens and Diode: https://sites.google.com/site/dtrlpf/home/diodes/s06j-12x-405-diodes $62.00
That would make a total of $97 dollars, and if you wan't to spend some more money you can upgrade some things at mohgasm's JAD kit. This build should do about 500mW depending on how much current u give it

Yeah, that's a fine setup (I have 2) for lower powered lasers. If you want more than a 60 second duty cycle, you will have to step it up a bit.

Well it's not just a matter of price. It's a matter of $$$ vs. Quality...
I don't mind spending more money if the quality involved is much better.
What I do not like is to be asked a price for an item and than when I decide to buy the price goes up.
I just spent A LOT of $$$$$$ for a WL green monster that is here in the B/S/T section but I thought it was well worth the cost, if I am offered a good deal in the 405nm wavelength I will jump on it for sure.

Hell, I have a 405 S06J I can drop in my C-6 w/ red anodized heatsink and through in a battery a goggles for ya if you want something stout and quickly.
