Re: FS: $60 - Complete Lasers - 100mW BR/ 240mW Red

Ebay - $1 each for rechargeable ones.....shipped from the USA.

these lasers come with a set of rechargeable batteries too....

FYI: Green o-like modules fit wonderfully in these hosts with one 14500 battery....Mine looks awesome. Cut the back part of an aixiz module off and stick it on the end of the heatsink to make an aperture cover....gives it a nice look.

hmm.... Well then... I might just have to get one later, but I need to locate a good charger.. But I don't like the spacer thing. How much would It cost to get it in 14500?

dx has a cr2 charger for 5 bucks. I own it, its built kind of cheap but it works great.

Re: FS: $60 - Complete Lasers - 100mW BR/ 240mW Red

you can get the host, heatsink and a 14500 battery for $25, then build it with a flex drive. with the flex drive it is convertable from 2xAA to 1x 14500 by removing the extension barrel.

I don't do these builds but it's very simple. Just mount the flex drive on top of the module with a spring on the driver...put it in the heatsink and your done.

Received my red and my bluray today. Verynice both work awesome! All I needes to do was add a bit of teflon tape to the lens threads for a firmer feel/adjustment. I'm orderin more my friends wantem

Oh they come with rechargeables!?!?

I guess it's time to take the plunge and invest in some 18650 and 123's too. Best charger I know of is the pila charger, but its $45. If using a cheaper dx type charger you should babysit the batteries while charging or risk burning your house down (or so I hear). They just don't have the safest shut off voltages and or will continue to trickle charge the battery when its done charging.

Hmm I don't have a red pointer, maybe I should get one of those too...

A clueless GGW question:

"GGW shortened name for the 4x and 6x bluray diodes"

Ya. But. How to differentiate between the ho-hum 4x, and the 6x GGW ...........

How much for a SF-AW build, and how many mW would it output at a long-life current?

OH....

GBW<>4x, GGW<>6x.

Thank ye, kind Sir, JR.

Ya wouldnt have any kewl pixs of some fast approaching, earth shattering, asteroids, would you?

Like the NEO Asteroid 2004 FH, or the flyby, a few years ago?:na:

I wouldn't want to run it any higher than 170mA
Which i use to think that would get around 150-160mW, But kendall has a crazy graph that says 200mA only gives like 120mW....seems odd but without a LPM i can't call it out...I'll have one soemtime before christmas though...after spending $300 on a remote starter for my fiance, shes buying me a laserbee, i'm not giving her a choice ;)

anyways, an SF build would be $85

Re: FS: $60 - Complete Lasers - 100mW BR/ 240mW Red

You get mixed results with the AW210 diodes...

I just soldered one up last night and tested it at 170mA's. (good recommendation for this diode)

It gives 160mW's through an AixiZ acrylic lens. (back opened) That means over 200mW's with my 405-G-1 glass lens mod...

Re: FS: $60 - Complete Lasers - 100mW BR/ 240mW Red

See thats what i thought they were normally, like 10-15mW below whatever the current was set at...like the PHR is usually about 110mW at 120mA.

What I do, and with R/C airplane and boat batteries too, is to put the whole charger and battery in the outdoor propane gas grill, and power it with the cord that runs the rotisserie. Set a kitchen timer to remind you to check them. If they burn up, detonate, melt down, fuse, go critical mass or whatever, I just have a small mess to clean. But it's not happened yet, and I charge lots of cheap batteries with many cheap chargers.
