I'll take 2 diodes at that price. 1 in module and one as bare diode. Both with lenses in holders. Added it to the drive document (pretty sure I did, never done it before though). Thanks for organising this

Just to clarify, if we get a lens holder, will you insert the lens for us?

Also, I added to the spreadsheet. Thank you!!!

I will if anyone wants, but I'd have to consider it a service (won't be much at all, probably like $2-3 max) only because it is one of the more nerve-racking aspects of putting it all together and it takes some time to do since I have to be careful. Well this time I have alcohol I can use, but still if I mess up anyone's lens the replacement comes from my supply so the small fee would be for time but mostly since it puts the pressure on me. Lastly, the cost acts as a deterrent so a little people as possible want me to do it,, but I'll give the option because I love you guys that much :)

Okay I updated some stuff everyone, quick question for everyone though, do most of you own soldering irons? Only asking since after I press them into the modules, I am thinking about either soldering the leads together for ESD protection, or using a jumper to keep them shorted. Any preference?

I own one, so it doesnt matter to me. Whichever is easiest for you. I think most people would. They're cheap.

Thanks so much petters!

I am not sure about all that lens business. I have a ton of g-2 and these s-1 lens coming so I don't need the lens at all, you could keep it. What I need is mine pressed into axis type module, I would use my own lens but I need a red and black wire lead soldered on. Is the lens that comes with it any better than the ones I have? I would not need the lens or holder whatsoever if this is the case.

Petters,

A couple of quick questions:

Will the modules be copper? Also, are the lens holders the same brass ones as DTR's?

Thanks,
Andy

From what I have seen the lens that comes with it is supposed to be better, if that is debatable I am unsure of. Press fit, done. As for soldering leads on, I can do that but I'd need to know if you have a preference for the wire gauge.

Haha, if we are being honest, neither have I! Work has gotten me away from finishing my build, just need a driver.

Yes and yes, because they are from DTR.

Anyone know the situation with customs and sending pressed diodes with no driver?

Going to bump this only because I want to get everything situated by Friday so I can put in the order for modules/lens holders so I can ship everything next week. Go back to school after next week so sooner the better and faster everyone gets their diodes :)

Hi Petters,
I get pressed modules from DTR all the time here in Canada with no problems.

Yeah Australia doesn't care about diodes or modules as long as its not in a handheld laser that you just need to add batteries to
