I think you should look around for the heatsinks offered here by some sellers already, and make stuff that they dont offer, so it is unique to you. Also if you can, buy some hosts and make the heatsinks with the measurements for those hosts. In my case as I browse ebay or dx and so on for nice looking hosts at like a price <$15 but then finding a heat sink for them gets hard and my local machine shop does like a small one (around 2in diamater) for $40 which is too much for me. So if you can offer heatsinks for a few different hosts not available here (c6 is extremely common) it would be helpful.

A lathe is a great way to further your enjoyment in this hobby:beer:, but if anyone wished to have a cheap heatsink made here maybe they should crumble up some aluminum foil and drill a hole through it:crackup:.... enjoy:beer:

I suggest that we get to view some of your products before you start selling these. This forum has vastly skilled machinist that sell custom sinks and such for very reasonably prices, why would one go elsewhere.

Affordable is different to every person so it'll be interesting to see what you can offer and for how much. I'd love to see some unique heat sinks other than the typical C6. Saik, Maglite, C8, C3, PD32 or MDXL 3W would be nice to see. Get others inputs before making heat sinks though because hate to see you make 20x C3 and then only 5 people want them.

second to mention the 3W MXDL, not sure if you can make it to a laser due to small size and space inside but would be cool. I LOVE the last three you found!!! 2nd and 3rd ones would be my preference. PLEASE BUY those and make a heat sink! id buy some from you since those are soooooo unique!

I like the third one the best, but 12V is a bit much for what it's going to be used for :p
Maybe we could put a dummy battery that has nothing in it but a bunch of metal to transfer the electricity, so it would only use 2 batteries?
EDIT: Or a 18650 plus a 18350...?

yeah i did notice the 3x 16340. you could always use a dummy like you said or spacers. might even be able to move the battery contact down in the laser host shrink the room to 2x 16340 but we'd need to have the laser in hand to see our options. the second or first one are probably our best bet

If it was shrunk down there would be more room for longer modules/drivers/heatsinks... I think we're on to something
