Meh, just a little...and I checked the connections, they seem fine...is there a simple way to get it to 150mA, even if I have to make it fixed?

well honestly these drivers weren't all that great. If you really want to drive your laser with a good driver, I'd recommend the flex (powered off 1.5-5.5v) or a rkcstr (powered off 6-12v)

The groove drivers were a good attempt but they are hard to assemble and just didn't regulate very accurately when they were assembled. I've built probably 30 of them and only 5 or so were actually in spec.

No offense, but I didn't ask for an alternative. I don't want to spend $26 on a new driver. Or even the inexpensive rckstr, if I can get my Groove to work.

"If" really is the key word here, isn't it? To be honest, none of us want to spend $ on any drivers. Unfortunately, drivers are a necessity for this expensive hobby. A Rkcstr driver (which is perfect for you) is only $15 shipped I believe. If you can't cough up $15 then lasers really aren't for you. Kenom was only trying to give you some helpful advice. And after all, your opening statement to this thread was "Can someone work on my laser for me". Then you said you weren't willing to spend much. Did you think we would have done it for less than the price of a Rkcstr driver (Plus the cost of shipping it both ways)? Instead of spending what you would have spent to pay someone here to fix it, just buy a Rkcstr driver, then build yourself a dummy load. You can do both for like $17 (Get 10 1Ω resisters free from Jerry http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/free-1-ohm-test-load-resistors-42409.html : just pay $1 shipping fee)

I think he said us to work for him meaning to help him here.

@Bearded~: You can also check the current bridging some part of the outside driver circuit (between batteries for instance).

Btw, It makes me laugh how you try to push him to change to the rkcstr when he already stated that he likes the groove driver. Wait, aren't this your own words?

Telling him to change browsers isn't an appropriate solution. He clearly stated that he likes IE8. Do us all a favor. Stop with your OCD and leave us the hell alone with this Opera shit already {Oh no, I swore. Watch Albert call the forum police on me now}. If you like Opera, that's good for you. I really hope you enjoy it

I of course know that the best solution is to change to the rkcstr, as well as I know that changing to Opera was a good solution. You were just trying to help him right? Why you said him then to change to the rkcstr? Because you think it's very well above the groove and you wanted to help him. Same as I did! Don't get any offense, I just want you to see that maybe Opera doesn't need to pay me for me to advertise them ;)

Jesus Christ, here we go with the fucking Opera again. I'm convinced you have OCD Albert. Seriously, enough with the Opera! And I'm not the one that told him to switch, Kenom was. I was just backing up Kenom's reasoning.

I'm not over reacting. You really need to give this Opera stuff a rest man. First you're pushing it on everyone, now you're using it in relation to arguments. What's next, an Opera Tattoo on your tricep?

Perhaps my words were a bit harsh, but you certainly make a great point about a rckstr being less than someone else working on it. But now my Groove driver smokes after a few seconds if I put current to it. I attempted to re-solder most of the joints, just to make sure, and now the U1 smokes. or whatever the big one with 4 contacts is next to the big, 1-ohm resistor.
