Hey everyone. I recently finished one of my builds (minus the diode of course, but simulated it and it works nicely) and I figured that, since I haven't seen an Aurora kit around here, and it is a popular host, that I may as well stick out a feeler for a kit.
So the kit would come with a couple of things:
- Empty host
- Driver pill (cut down to be level with rest of pill)
- Driver (hot option: set to specified current)*
- Copper heatsink
- 2x UltraFire 16340 batteries (hot option)*
So is some info about it.
The heatsink:
Polished and custom made, latheless, out of pure copper. Comes with a set-screw and is fit to hold the top half of the Aixiz module. Length-wise, it will fit perfectly into the head of the Aurora host. Every one will be different due to the fact that I don't have a lathe... but they are guaranteed to fit and heatsink your diode well!
*HOT OPTION:
So the idea behind the hot option is a very cheap driver that I found which is a buck driver that is supposed to output 1A. However, with a bit of customization, I have managed to essentially make it adjustable by just changing out some resistors. Anyway, the hot option would come with one of these drivers, superglued into the driver pill, customized to your current needs (haha, get it?).
Further, it comes with a pair of UltraFire 16340s, which are the only batteries which have been tested to output the right current for my customization.

If this is chosen, however, red diodes cannot be used due to their case-negative nature.
Anyway, so prices:
"Cold" option: $25
"Hot" option: $40
Completed thing! Just insert diode and power up, baby!
So what do you guys think? Think it has potential? I'd really like this host and this heatsink (especially 'cause I made it!) and I feel that this forum needs a kit for DIYers all in one bundle.
