I have made a few kits with the SS C3 but have not made a thread because I have told people who question me about them, that I think Dark_Horse and Likeitbright are making this kit.

So to try them first because I don't want to copy... Then they have come back to me saying that the other guys said they didn't mind...

So the ones that I make, are not like theirs. They are just exactly like my Pocket Mini style build. Using the host pill to mount the driver as shown in my Pocket Mini thread. And then with a separate heatsink as well. (copper or aluminum)

So in this way, my build of the C3 host is different than the above mentioned sellers...

Last I heard, Dark Horse had to tear down his shop. IIRC the only thing left of his website is the front page now (It looks like even that is gone now). I haven't heard anything about LikeitBright doing them. Ehgemus is making the heat sinks for the Dorcy now.

Peace,
dave

Bummer about Dark_Horse, but good information to know about Dave... Thanks!

I do keep a few of the C3 hosts on hand. They are a very nice host. One of my favorites...

Stainless is awesome. That new SS CR2 host that I have is even nicer because it is polished stainless steel! (and smaller too)

DealExtreme: $18.90 UltraFire C3 Stainless Steel Cree P4 LED Flashlight (AA/14500)

The heat sink in this one is one of the last Dark Horse heat sinks made for this model. I do not have the fabricating/metal working skill to make one of these yet.

I think I do have the last one made by Dark Horse, with a 6X GGW in it. Barry told me it was the last one he had, and gave it to me as a bonus for some work I did for him. Its not to small, or to large. Its a great HS/host combo, and doesn't even get warm. I run my 6X with no duty cycles.

2 daguin: I'm still interested in your offer, perhaps I was some overtaking in the purchase, because I do not have the required amount. I was ready to spend a maximum of $ 160 for the violet laser. Now I think to buy your copy, and then resell more expensive. So until I can find a buyer for your laser, I will not buy it. I hope for your understanding.

OMG! It's sexy!

Yes, they certainly are... :D

But, so is this one (see below)! I have that host, thanks to Jayrob, fitted for a green 532nm module*; it's a beautiful host, feels solid but small enough in the hand. Not to mention, it's a 320~440mW lazor, built by the Professor... that's a really great deal on a really great piece of DIY LPF gear

...It is an 8X (violet/bluray) with a flexdrive ... putting out 320mW with the stock aiXiz acrylic lens ... pick up one of Jayrob's 405-G-1 lenses, it will put out 440mW ... $300 shipped

***EDIT***
... I have a few questions:
... Do you have a video of the measurement power?
 ...that's like walking up to a well-respected [feared] Russian Mafia boss and asking him to show you his tattoos...
***/EDIT***

@Professor:
...How about an IgorT Romisen 8X?
What you got there, Professor... ? What's the o/p on it?

@Glenn - you already have the world's largest collection of IgorTs (and I'm guessing you might just have more *finished* IgorT lasers then Igor himself!!!), so... go away. shoo now... :p

No problems, Superlazers. The sale of Stainless Steel Cree is now simply awaiting the response to the invoice. Bear in mind when figuring resale, these are being basically offered at cost. Until the Chinese get into the act, this is the base cost you are looking at for 8X violet lasers.

The IgorT Romisen was originally a complete IgorT build. However there was a problem with the driver (which blew the diode within the first 10 minutes). I rebuilt it with a new 8X and a flexdrive. It has the original, direct-press, IgorT heat sink. The driver is set to 320mA. It puts out 350mW with the acrylic lens and 440mW with the 405-G-1 lens. It comes with one 14500 battery.

It is $325 with the aixiz lens and $383 with the 405-G-1 lens. Add $8 for additional international postage ($5 already included for domestic)
