what will be next:

- targeted price for this unit (instrument case plus mounted lens) - 30EUR. I will continue to work on (decrease) price, but in the future ...
- 2 test units available for 40EUR/EACH. this price is significant low or under price/test_unit payed by me, but will help me to deduct some expenses. someone here from EU, asked me already about one of these test units (few weeks ago), and I promised to him. If will still not be interested, this unit will become available here again.
- these test units will be available for shipment on the next week 13-17 July (using M1 - 5USD/shipment)
- I will analyze the option to have correcting ring attached too, but is not a guarantee, as time I don't know the price of this gadget (read above to understand why).

Any other info, will become available on demand or when will be some other things which worth to be mentioned here.

Regards,
Alx

Why do you do fifteen (15) multiple posts...
when you could easily have put all the last 15 Posts on
1 single post...

Are you just looking to increase your post count....:tsk:

2 or 3 would slide by... but 15

wow, thats a real comprehensive report, alx!
thanks for the details and many pics!

in fact i like it a lot better with facts and pics in individual posts. 15 posts? better than 2 or 3, and its your thread after all ;-)

will take some time to look through the pics, thanks! :)

what diode does the red laser use? the dot looks different to mine (i use a regular LOC, long open can 16x LG burner). especially the darker pics, have little/no wings and more, uniform splash (than my regular aixiz acrylic).

good to see you do one lens for red and 405! so i can decide later where to use them.. :)

Hi manuel,

I worked 3 days to collect all info posted here, and present it in a clear way. That I grouped it using separate posts. Each post has it's own sens. I don't want to group all toghether to not confuse users (also I saw that i can't insert text between images, and that in a precise order). Is easyer to follow each post in this way.

alx, do you mean you made your own AR coating ?

Can i ask you how ? ..... vacuum deposition for evaporation ? ..... what do you use for 400nm AR, MgF2 ?

And, how much can cost you made AR coating on normal glass (not lenses) for other frequencies, like 532nm ?

Just curiosity, cause here, is difficult to find companies that do this for private users.

Hi,

Yes, I ca do coatings here. If you have a project and precise/clear technical specs, just contact me privately. I can help you. But remember, you should have, very clear technical documentation.

As I promised: first 2 units arrived yesterday and... indeed their quality is professional and exceed even my expectations!

They are looking better, now are better build than what you saw on my past pictures, fit better inside AX/DX module. Also, I tested one on red an blue, and the spot on focus are super ok. Has been few days delay, because all units must pass quality&insurance tests (made by manufacturer). So, finally, we have it, professional quality, just plug inside ax/dx case and work like a charm!

So, this units are final version and ready for shipmet! Development work has ended!

Also, correction ring works as expected too!

For example, on 121mw/red with AX plastic, using this lens I got 151mw. For violet, from 106-108mw with ax plastic, I got 148mw with this unit!!!! Also, using correction ring on blue, I lost only 4mw (144mw). This confirm all: dispersion is ok, diode inside has been mounted ok, lens is ok too... so we have less than 3% loss ... in total power... under 7% as stated above!

I know the unit price (40EUR) for this first 2 units could be considered higher by some members. I can understand their considerations, but in this way, we can make things happen.

Now, is time for other members, to come and join to this project. I'm done on my side! Now, we can have a good lens, factory assembled, regular product, fit perfect inside ax/dx case, no aditional modifications, just plug&play, at lower costs. And targeted price (30Eur) can be deacreased too in the near future. All is dependent by frequency & quantities ordered!

Regards,
Alx

This is great if it is true!

I recommend having somebody like rkcstr or Miloš test compare the lens against the 405-G-1 to see how it is with a direct comparison on the same laser... (or any trusted LPF member with a good power meter)

now thats good news! you sure are quick, alx! :)
i second milos for testing, he did a very extensive test lately on the available lenses, especially the 405-g-1 ones. i expect you to have lots of demand, alx, after milos' test is done :)

I have a LPM, and am in the UK if you want me to test the lens. Otherwise, I might buy one soon

I'd definitely be up for one or two of these when you start selling. If you'd like, I have a thermal power meter, am in the UK, and am happy to test these with both red and blu-rays. If not, then I'd recommend Milos.
