Re: Laser Meter - $139

Can someone please tell me why doesn't Radiant Electronics make more units?

It looks kind of strange, because it is against economic logic, apparently.

You would expect him to make a lot of them in order to supply the demand (and make more money), don't you?

Or am I missing something here?

Yeah... you would think...
I believe he is going to school and builds them on his off time...:undecided:
Or maybe he's creating a demand by holding them back... I really don't
know for sure... You will need to ask him...

MOST of the sellers here do it just part time. I am a professor. Rkcstr is in medical school. IIRC Jayrob does something with construction. (etc.) Most of the sellers here really do not have a "store." We fit in what we can with what we have available

Trust me on this -- No one here is getting rich off of these sales ;)

Most of us are ecstatic, if we can just get the hobby help pay for itself

Peace,

Re: Laser Meter - $139

I make more money off my website and eBay than the products
I sell here. Even though I sell LPMs my main business is Industrial
R&D and servicing the (other than Laser related) products we
have already sold...

Sorry to the OP for getting off track....:yabbem:

OK, then why to invest in building a website and put your flagship on the front page while it is out of stock 99% of the time?

It's just doesn't make any sense to me.

But maybe i'd better ask him.

As Jerry said above... I think he is really busy with school. Maybe when school is done they will be more readily available.

And I am kinda of surprised this isnt sold yet... Mine sold in under 30mins. Although I sold mine for $100 flat... but still these are a hot item.

I've always had a different view of "off topic" in a sales thread. I don't mind it at all. For example this thread. The subject line "Laser Meter - $139" has been in the "recent posts" list all day because of this off topic discussion.

If y'all want to talk about boats in any of my FS threads, feel free :thanks:

Sometimes what we want to do and what we are able to do do not coincide :shhh:

If you already have webhosting, are good at web development, and need a storefront to sell the meters that get built, why not put together a site? :)

Because it's fun? :) Because it's nice to have a home on the web, to park information about your projects? - even if they're not streamlined mass production endeavor.

Why did I spend 3 hours making a website that turns wavelengths into RGB color codes, when probably 20 people actually want to do that..?

Why did TWhite build a laser warning generator website, and then an awesome visual graph of the label requests..?

Because it's nice to have a home on the web to show off an interest you're proud of :)

I think what he is asking is why is MM offering an LPM on a live website
that is linked to on every one of his and Styropros Posts and is not
available...

On the other hand you and Twhite offer a service that IS available
when one clicks onto your site links...

Re: Laser Meter - $139

Please calm down everyone, this was NOT what I wanted to do when I released the Alpha. :(

I am working with getting some other people up to speed and making Alphas so they will be significantly more available in the future.

Working on my bachelor's degree, finding a summer internship and homework are all taking away from my ability to devote the time Radiant needs to keep the flagship products in stock.
