Isaac, price, I guess. These are for a different build, the FASTTECH one that costs about $15.00 in parts if you include the rechargeable battery. I have different drivers coming for these LPC-840 builds.

yeah i just wanted a cheap option compared to the current ~$20 bucks a driver (i miss mohrenberg :C) Have a bunch of lpc826s that need a home.

Yeah, I've got a couple of those, a couple of LPC-836s ,three LPC-840s, two ML501P73-02, and ten ML101U29-25s. Those are just my reds. LOL, Paul

Of course! They are all in parallel. That would short out the whole unit. I've got to start getting up earlier on Sundays. I should have caught that. Thanks, Lightning Stalker.

Mine are out for delivery today, so, yeah, they are a pretty good company. Newgazer is also one of their companies.

please let us know how they perform. i'll be driving mine with a flex. not sure what current yet. or what host to put it in - i'm looking.
techood has seen many dollars from me and i was always more than pleased with their products and service.

I should pick one of these up. Ive had several of the LPC-8## diodes, but have killed them due to overdriving :na:
i picked up these not too long ago and have been playin around with them. Its nice to have a bunch of diodes to experiment with, and better yet, being able to know if you pop one its no big deal since they are only 3$ a piece :D

IsaacT, neither. They are ML101U29-25 and can be had any day ten for $29.99. On a lighter note, I have two LPC-840s in my hot little hands! YEAY!!!!!!!! I will be testing them when I get a chance to do it, but have a lot of irons in the fire right now.

Need advice ..... I have a Mitsubishi ML101U29-25 400mW 5.6mm 660nm Red Laser.
is it possible to use a battery straight to the laser diode to max out the diode to 400mW with out using the driver. what kind of battery would be needed to get max output.

Ghost8, no, you cannot. That diode is a 660nm LD that has a maximum CW power of 300mW. You need to drive it with a buck driver, or at least a linear driver. The forward voltage is about 2.3 VDC and the current needs to be set around 250mA, or maybe a bit higher if you want to push the diode to it's highest power output. Good luck. At least these are pretty cheap diodes.

no you can not you need a driver since laser diodes use A not W or V
you will blow up the diode :)
