BKarim: I have probably had mine on for a total of an hour to an hour an a half so far and it is still going on the first battery.
On a side note, yes, I did just receive it a week ago, but I fiddle with my lasers ALL the time so they get a lot of runtime. This one more so because of how portable it is. My sister told me yesterday that she is tired of seeing lights and is really angry with me lol.

40mw is already pretty sweet for making some stars of my own at night

I bought 30pcs of these 50mW keychains and test every one of them for the REAL output!
There will be also be a few of these 50mW keychains being not even at 20mW, so I don´t take any more orders till they arrive

Hey, I noticed the pointer would dim after a short time, so I tried to see what it was. The pointer itself is perfectly fine, but I am now guessing the IR diode's driver gets hot over time. This is to be expected in a tiny 1 cell green. What is necessary is a proper duty cycle.
You can give the pointer and battery a time to rest, usually 1-5 minutes. The battery does not drain very quickly, but I havent figured out run-times for myself yet. By subjective appearance of the beam the power starts up on high and eventually drops to half, then slowly goes down more. I can do 5x cycles of 10/10 sec on/off before said drop in beam brightness happens. Same thing happens after 9x 5/10 cycles. 5 minutes wait time restores the pointer back after each.

I had mine start at about half power and then increase to full after a very brief moment. Also, the included battery is pretty much a goner now so I am def gonna need to find a rechargeable that has enough mAh. All I have found so far are 900mAh Cells.

hey, i was interested in buying my first laser and this looked like a good place to start.
i'd like to buy a 40mW laser the soonest you have one available.
