Not for sale anymore

Hey guys I have a 445 diode I pressed into an aixiz and when I went to use it the threads in the aixiz for the lens were all messed up and the lens wont screw in. For anyone who can repair this, or has some use for it, i'm asking $40. I'll post a pic if someone requests it.

Or it could be some machining burr/flakes in the threads.
Go around them with a pin (around and around and around) to see if there is some loose material like the brass from the module or even some chrome flaking off.
I have had this happen before and the modules are all in use now.
Worst case scenario, a thread chase (9X.5mm tap) will clean it out properly and allow you to thread the lens in.

No its not that. I don't even know how to explain it but some of the thread are missing and in some places the thread isn't even there. The aixiz is beyond repair.

Um excuse me but did you say the same thing twice ?

I had to laugh, but seriously send me the aixiz head and I will clean up the threads for you or replace the darn thing ;)

I go through Aixiz modules like you change your socks and I can tell you from experance no two are alike they just look like they are  seriously they have different wall thicknesses, more or less threads, and different diameters by a couple thousands, heck they are made in china by a guy who gets payed a bowl of rice and one fish head per day to turn them out, lately they have been giving him polywogs instead of the fish head

Your telling me. I tried to press a diode in an aixiz the other day and the hole where the diode presses into was bigger then the diode its self so the diode just slides in and out. I need to use some thermal adhesive on that sucker...

I am under the impression that aixiz is REALLY good at replacing defective modules.
I was cutting down the wall thickness on aixiz modules and a couple of them I had to do in 2 passes instead of one o_O there is a BIG difference.
**I also think the chrome is a thermal bottleneck**

I pressed a diode into one once and it had no threading whatsoever. That was a nasty surprise.

I have only bought 10 at a time so nothing too high production but I always put both pieces together (with their glass lens as well) and put them in a baggie.
I am generally pretty disorganized with most things anyway so I took steps to avoid it with lasers :na:
There are a surprising percentage that need "doctoring".

It does happen but it seems to be pretty rare. Out of 300 modules from Aixiz I have only seen two that were unusable.

It definitely is a surprise when you get one. It is just not something you would expect. I was able to use Pyro's extraction tool to push out the diode.;)
