Yeah, I found that out. My Vega 5 (actually avg. 4.7mW) was a nice match for my RPL-Blue-10, but now that I've upgraded to an RPL-Blue-30, (which actually kicks avg. 46mW and once peaked at 94mW !) I wish I would have gone for the Vega 10 as well. I could really use that extra visibility now.

Anyway, back to the thread topic... Your price on the 10mW is fantastic and my Paypal finger is ready and waiting. Thanks for making more of them and giving me this opportunity.

Cheers, CC
Is it normal for the RPL Blue 30s to have such a high output or did you pay extra for a freak unit like those 600mw Hercs not officially listed on laserglow?

The blue 30s usually are about 40mw steady, optotronics had one that peaked at 80mW!

Yeah, It's another "Jack pulled a rabbit out of his hat" story... I was blown away when I received it and the power measurement said Average 46mW! There was also a hand-written note at the bottom of his spec sheet saying that he had recorded a peak output of 94mW that morning.

I'm sure that not all the RPL-Blue-30s will perform as well, but Optotronics does seem to get some spectacularly over-spec units, as many others here will no doubt attest to. I guess I was just lucky that one happened to be there when I placed my order.

Anyway, I don't want to hijack Milos' thread here, so PM me if you have any more questions. When Milos' BR arrives I'll try for some 5-colour pictures. Sweet anticipation... :D

Cheers, CC

Re: New 405nm Pointers for SALE  (5mW and 10m

Guys, I got 2 more. Check the first post - its updated now.

This time I had 8 diodes and out of seven I tested only 5 were good standard (2 extremely good!!). I still have one to test and hopefully one laser to build if its good.
I also had to ask for $20 for international shipping because i got hurt last time having to add $15 additional out of my pocket. And I want it to be sent more securely and with confirmation.

contact me if you are interested!

peace!

Awesome... 15mW on the way... Which leaves me with a big question... :-?

What shall we call these in our sig lists? I mean we have SenKat diodes, DDLs, Kenometers, so what should Milos' units be called?

Milasers? :D I'm sure Milos himself has an opinion, which I'll be hearing shortly no doubt... ;D but what does the mob think?

Cheers, CC

I got a bluray from milos, and his lasers are awesome. Packing was good and my only problems was that i had difficulty adjusting the focus to infinity. Milos, may i also ask if i can move the silver ring below the focusing lens? i tried moving it and it budged a little.

Hi ngiapy,
Glad your got your laser and like it. Focusing 405nm to infinity is a bit tedious but it just takes some playing around. I'm sure you'll get the hang of it and change focus many times from now on :)

As for moving silver ring, there is no problem at all. It should not move as I tight it as hard as I could to the second half of aixiz barrel that is inside. So just grip it with two fingers and slowly tighten it clock wise against the plate. I will be putting drop of glue in aixiz thread from now on to prevent any chance of this turning. Thanks for feedback :) Don't force anything and be careful not to dirty the lens when changing focus.

Let me know if you have any more questions. I'm so glad your shipment arrived safely all the way to Singapore.

Tip: don't use super-glue, the fumes will spread out and destroy the diode window and the lens.
It happened to me once.

That's good to know! I guess a dab of Loctite would work better.

Ah, poor Milos... I swear that every time I post in his thread, in 3 replies it's totally off-topic. ;)

So I'd like to say now that I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my shiny new Milaser 15mw unit and will post some 5c beam shots when it gets here. Got my Kenometer today as well, so it's time to play. Good times...

Cheers, CC
