405-g2 high output lens in modified aixiz lens nut $45 shipped UPDATED w/ new test #

Just as the title says a single element aspheric lens with 2 layers of AR
coating for 445 blue and 405 blu-ray.

These will sit in a modified aixiz lens nut with an aluminum spacer with a cavity drilled out to fit over the domed part of the lens. Dave tested one of his lasers for me with my small aperture spacer (3.5mm wide) and the numbers are:

Aixiz glass = 800mW
405-g2 = 930mW
405-g1 = 980mW

now im having jakeGT test out my the same lens, this time around with the spacer drilled out to make it have a 5mm aperture which should bring the numbers closer to the 405-g1.

when i get the numbers i will update this thread with it. complete lens sold here will have the spacer with the larger opening.

these are jakeGT's test numbers for my newer spacer design:

12x set to 500mA
aixiz 405/445 glass lens- 657mW peak
jayrob 405-g-1- 794mW peak
Steviedezie 405-g-2 mod- 792mW peak!


Guidesman 445, a140 diode, v5 driver set to ~1.4A
Aixiz 405/445 glass lens- 1,412mW peak
Jayrob 405-g-1 - 1,557mW peak
Steviedezie 405-g-2 with mod- 1,597mW peak!

My laserbee I-X came in today woot woot!! heres the results:
405nm 6x set at 200mA
Aixiz glass: 210mW & 234mW
405-g2: 284mW & 292mW

405 12x 500mA
aixiz glass: 586mW & 599mW
405-g2: 715mW & 720mW
same laser same lenses this time with a fully charged battery
aixiz: 620mW
405-g2: 830mW!!! thats 25% over aixiz 405 glass

The different numbers above represent 2 sets of lenses...thats 2 different aixiz lenses and 2 different 405-g2's

UPDATE:

Aixiz glass he provided with the laser 1511mW
405-g2 1865mW!!
















The dot isnt viewable even with blu safety glasses over the camera...then again with the 405-g2 that hotlights is putting out 830mW of 405 blu-ray!!

sorry for the delay jake, i'll ship it today. my girlfriend rear ended somebody. been at the junkyard last two days looking for parts. pick-n-pull is not a nice place to be after 4 days of rain. your free lens blank and a 405-g2 for testing will be sent. i'll pm you with what i need to be tested once i send it out. thanks again. hope the results will interest you enough to buy it.

bump and OP updated with some test numbers with jakeGT, looks like my new spacer design ROCKS!!

1 week until my laserbee gets here so i will update with more test numbers soon. I will update with actual pictures of the lens along with it completely assembled.

What do the dots look like with these lenses? I was under the impression that 405-G1 dots weren't as "tidy" as Aixiz lenses.

The 405-g-1 dot really isn't good
If you've never experienced it you get quite surprised by it

This 405-g-2 I got from Stevie was seriously almost aixiz 3 element good

It sounds like the g2 is the best of both worlds. Power of the g1 and the dot size of the AixiZ.

Unfortunately... also "cost of an entire diode"

the dot is real clean. I get clean dot with just the slightest splash no more than double the size of the dot. its like a very faint ring thats about 1.5 cm wide or so.

I lost my camera so i will try to update with pics soon. just be patient guys, there will be lots of pics of the lens itself, the lens inside the aixiz, and of the dot/splash soon.

hey i know 45 seems like alot for a lens but realistically the lens itself is 2/3 the cost. I dont make much off these and compared to the g1's this is very very cheap (g1's are like 55 + 3 dollars shipping ). The reason I do it for this price is because i honestly think its fair since it only takes me 5 minutes to do all the modding for it. its the trips to the post office thats starting to annoy me. I might start charging for shipping (its $4.05 a gallon for gas in my area so yea, i might just have to charge for the trips muahaha :na

oh sorry dude, i guess the internet makes everything sound mean! i totally was in good spirit. I thought the joke at the end would make you aware of that.

This thing i got going on was inspired by Mohrenberg since he provides such great and cheap hosts that im sure almost everyone has seen/bought. I just wanted to keep that same spirit by giving the forum a product everyone wants for a lower price than whats going around.
