Hey guys,

Hate to continue the off-thread, good luck with the sale andrew :)

But maybe we are not taking one thing into account with electrons LPM reading. IIRC electron, you don't own a LaserBee, you bought a laser (mega-dilda I believe) from a member of this forum, who took the measurement off his laserbee. I think the main thing we are forgetting here are environmental factors, which seem to have quite an impact on a diodes output power, I recall reading something that IgorT and other members wrote on the subject. I believe it is this could be the source of the discrepancy in readings or at least a partial explanation?

BTW getting my LPM from Igor soon, don't know if he mentioned it but it was calibrated based on the results you got on your mega-LPM :D so I will be pretty accurate myself hehe. Can't wait.

Thanks
I did a direct comparison, the LaserBee is +12% overstated, you get what you pay for.
Do you own a LaserBee I?  I have nothing personally against you "Electron" I just don't believe in bashing a great product at a great price.  Plus I don't understand the enjoyment you get from doing this???  If you have a video showing direct evidence that it is +12% inaccurate...then produce it.  Otherwise, keep "no value" added comments to yourself. Oh and whoTF pays thousands of dollars for a LPM for testing a Dilda ;D SORRY...just trying to be funny. I know you own some other lasers as well...so please don't flame me to badly :-/

Hey electron........

Whoa.... lets back the cart up a little bit.... you can say what you want about the LaserBee I...
You are entitled to your opinion....
It may well be +12 % off according to your test methods and $$$meter......

BUT

Don't BS the members here telling them that you "did a direct comparison" when I know
for a fact that you don't even have a LaserBee I to test against.
So if you want to bring some valid data that can be used here... that will be  great... and
appreciated...
But don't insult the intelligence of the members here including myself by spewing
B**lsh*t to justify your almost $4000.00 expense.
Your method of testing the laser in question is riddled with inconsistencies from using an
old Graph to who knows the type of batteries and their exact charge when the data was graphed.

You want to be honest fine... else :-X

Hey brtaman you are correct with your observations, the thing is the whole thread took a turn in the wrong direction, I responded to one post about a modified driver and the next thing I knew all heck broke loose......wasn't my intend to thrash a thread, really wasn't.

Yes I have exchanged numerous emails with Igor, he is one heck of a guy; I'm very much aware of the Meter he designed for you and I think you will be very happy with it; Igor is very talented and a gifted individual, an absolute perfectionist which is rare these days.  Too bad he doesn't live in the States, there are many companies that could use his talent; I'd have him hired on in a heartbeat.  I'm sure he could tell you about the comparisons between the kenometer and the one he designed, but that would be a whole different subject/thread and this thread seemed to take a life of it's own and I don't think it should continue on this path, so I'm not going to add any more to it.

My apologies to the OP, this went the wrong way and it truly was not intentional.

Peace

Sorry to get off topic Drew... but I just needed to respond to the unscientifically presented
data on the accuracy of the LaserBee I.. Again... I apologize for interfering in your sale thread.
