New to this forum. I found it after being burned by many other less reputable laser proprietors. Do you happen to have any more of these kits at this Price? If you do can I also order the copper heat sink and the battery extension tube?

I'm sorry to hear of your issues with the other suppliers. The package described in this thread is an ongoing offer to the LPF membership. I will contact you via PM regarding the total price of what you requested.

Bummer, I was trying to use my wife's Paypal account to order today but had no success. I was totally logged in and even added my own CC number and card verification number. Guess I'll have to wait till I get home tomorrow to print, scan, then email the order form from the Survival Laser website.

Like the rest of you I cannot wait to get my hands on this awesome laser build kit. I had ordered a 300 mW 532nm from MegalaserUK but was disappointed. The lens fell out during cleaning and It did not have a good divergence pattern. Fiddling around to try to improve the alignment led to loss of the chip used to create the lase effect. I wonder how much IR was included in the measurement of the laser's wattage.:(:(

Can't wait to get home in the AM. We''ll have the initial Easter activities first. Then time to order.:cool:

Strange that PayPal didn't accept your account info. Was it strictly a PayPal issue? Has anyone else had a problem with the webstore checkout?

Re: 1-1.3 watt 445nm Laser Package **ONLY $190 SHIPPED IN THE US**

My wife said she has had no problem with it before. The only thing I could think of was that I tried to create an account for myself but Pay pal would not let me have another account based off the same bank account,. We have a shared account.

When she started this account she did not include my name on it. She also had new credit cards made for us since then and I knew that one of the cards was no longer active; I just did not know which one. I deleted both cards and put our third one on the account.

Somewhere in the process i screwed up the account. Even the help desk was not able to figure out was wrong. When I get home in the AM we'll work on it together.

I might just have to go the order form route. Hopefully I should then be able to have the build kit by Frday at the latest.

Looking at the beta picture you posted of the Survival laser II, is it basically the same host as the original laser? My question is when your new model comes out will we be able to swap out the diode and driver module with the new laser's so we won't have to pay for a whole new set-up?

Yes, I am considering producing an upgrade package for those who have previously purchased the SL I. The basic host is the same, however the SL II has a new driver, diode module, heat sink and focusing ring. The complete package may also come with one or more of the new accessories such as the battery extension tube. One thing that concerns me is that upgraded safety goggles such as the Eagle Pair OD4+ are essential for this build. I may include them with both the upgrade and complete packages, along with a syringe of thermal compound and a new instruction set.

This Survival Laser II sounds pretty cool. Is there a definite release date yet? within the next couple weeks?

We were trying to release it before the end of the month, but now it looks like a few (2-3) more weeks. Just waiting on a couple of parts, and to finish the instructions.

I ordered an arctic 1w from thinklasers about a month ago, and from what I can tell I should have totally just found this laser package instead. I am cancelling the order from thinklasers, and when I finally get the refund, I am hoping that you will still have some of these lasers in your inventory. I really need a good powerful laser before burning man.

We should be ready when you are. :)

While you are waiting, please also review the safety information posted on this forum and on the home page of the Survival Laser website.

I just read the safety stuff. Wow, I had no idea you can face imprisonment if you shine it at moving vehicles. My idea was to only point it at the ground or over the horizon. I also just read about how blue seems to be the most dangerous color in reference to eye damage. I will definitely keep this in mind when operating any blue laser.

Aside from safety, will this laser overheat if turned on for long periods of time? What's the longest amount of time you would recommend keeping the high powered blue laser on for? I have read elsewhere that other lasers even with heatsinks shouldn't be on for more than 30 seconds at a time.
