I have a 1,000mW 638nm laser here I just built. It uses the 500mW Mit$ubi$hi diode. It also uses the G2 lens. It is running at 1.4A buck driven and uses a single 18650 IMR battery. It is very bright and very powerful. The spot looks like Crap as to be expected with these diodes. A big divergent line with some splash. I was able to capture it pretty well in one of the photos. See below..... If you are able to get past the spot and want a nice bright A$$ red laser then this is the one. Of course you could try using different lenses. I think Lazerer has one that does a pretty decent job at making it look better. Just cuts out some power.
Oh yeah it uses a copper direct pressed heatsink so it stays cool for a nice 2 minute duty cycle.
Price is $250 shipped with battery and charger.

Are you kidding me? :wtf:
Too expensive? The diode alone costs $110, the lens isn't cheap either.
Ill take it PM sent
Sold! Pending payment.

Thanks bro, had some midnight fun with it last night when I found out a G1 lens I bought was actually a 635-C-L lens from lazerer. Took it out swapped the lens and shined it around the sky. The beam actually did look to have better divergence with it and the power loss was hardly noticeable. I can included that lens also if you want it. Just add $20

Oh lol, well I haven't seen a 1W 638nm for sale like eer so I didn't really know what the price should be. Just priced it at what I think it's worth.

He did, but at the time the diodes were basically unavailable, with only the 300mW on the market. Now they are fairly common.

The beam isn't sucky, that's the best part. The dot sucks. The beam is amazingly bright in the night sky. If you are referring to the divergence of the beam than yes thy part is sucky.

yea sorry didn't mean to dirsespect the laser :D It is worth though. the beam is indeed the best part :) Noone cares about the divergence if they dont know about lasers.

I'm narotic about my "keepers" which is why I don't personally own a high powered 635nm. I can't stand the spot
