A long time ago, no companies (except for Wicked) sold pen-style red lasers, so the only way to get one was to make it yourself or to buy it from a personal seller. However, not long ago, DealExtreme started selling a 200 mW pen-style laser, and it turned out to be very popular. (However, it uses closed can diodes, so it's not the most powerful pen-style red laser available.)

Currently, while there are many people who make their own Blu-Ray lasers, there are no companies that sell them (except for Wicked, whose products are horribly overpriced). Do you think that another laser company will realize the marketing potential and start selling portable Blu-Ray lasers?

(Somehow, I have a feeling that DealExtreme will soon start selling a Blu-Ray version of its 200 mW red laser.)

Re: will other companies start selling Blu-Ray las

I think there will be pen style blu-rays. There is one problem though, the companies don't
realize that the 803t's are capable of 80-100 mW's and if they do then they will sell them for less. I don't think they even make 803t's anymore. :-/

I think a company called lazershop sells 5mW-20mW blu-ray pens for pretty high prices.

I don't see burning Blu-Ray pens coming out anytime soon because Blu-Ray burners aren't being produced for very cheap right now.
