I bought a Violet laser from HighTechDealz and am amazed how powerful it is. I have a 60mw green of course its brighter because the wavelength, but it can only pop balloons and make some black things smoke, but my new Violet Laser is a different story. It pops balloons, light matches, melt plastics and something I didnt expect was was to be able to burn though a piece of white printer paper in 3 seconds and I continued moving the paper and burnt my initials trough the paper well it kinda looked like my initials it was hard holding the paper up and guiding the laser at the same time. What do you think the power would be in Mw's? I want to thank HighTechDeals for the high quality work and low prices. Stefan

So its pushing 120mA, I am not the best guess on this, but I would say between 90 and 110mW.

Yeah, I was guessing around 100mw, comparing it to my 60mw green its quite a bit stronger. Its nice having a longer duty cycle my green laser was 30-45 second on 30 second off my Violet has a duty of up to 3 minutes and maybe longer with a heat sink. Its rated for 9-12 volts for the driver, but I bought the 9 volt battery and clip which is perfect for this setup. I cannot reply with the link in my message because I haven't made more than 10 posts yet. Stefan

Its amazing how much dimmer the blu-ray or violet light looks compared to a green laser's light even though it is much more powerful in mW.
Just my two cents: be careful with with the module that you don't end up zapping it with static electricity. I actually did that to mine and ended up killing my diode even while it was in the housing, i made the stupid mistake of putting the module in my jacket pocket to take it with me. Big mistake!

Interesting comment about the static in the coat pocket. I had one of mine at work yesterday and it worked fine. I put in the pocket of my fleece jacket and when I got home it was toast. It really wasn't in a housing but all the connections were somewhat insulated. Anyone have additional comments or knowledge on this topic?
