UV filter that turns visible the invisible... WTH??

It's just fluorescence. Mark a piece of paper with an orange or yellow highlighter. That paper is now capable of "viewing" UV.

Hummm, are you sure?. Why should it cost 41USD, then?.

The site says:

"The aperture converts invisible 190-390nm light to a visible orange with a minimum sensitivity of 1mJ/cm2 and a maximum damage threshold of 10J/cm2"[...]

So it seems to be an aperture filter that converts light to lower wavelenght... if it makes any sense. :thinking:

Yes, I'm sure. I assume it's more expensive because it's less likely to catch fire than my paper example. ;) The phosphor is embedded in a cement-based material instead of a cellulose-based material

I've seen some IR detectors at radiohut. Don't remember any mention of what wavelengths, but they were supposed to be used for testing remotes.

Most people have an unfiltered cameraphone, though.
