something inside has died

My 1.6w 447nm flashlight style laser just stopped working. the batteries still charged. safety. key in place. armed indicater on clicky illuminated. the diode just dimmed and died. Could this be just an open circut or should i send it back to factory for r&r. I dont have but an hour total usage from it..it does have tec cooler and large heat sinc.

Try new batteries before you do anything
They may be "holding a charge" but not be able to provide the needed current anymore

Then try cleaning up all of the contact points

If both of those fail, then it is something internal (driver or diode)
