Default Sled extracted from Toshiba HD-A2 HDDVD player...

Today I disassembled a broken Toshiba HD-A2 HD-DVD player which I bought for cheap off of ebay. I found some really nice aluminum heatsinks, which for me, really made it worth it since I work with power mosfets and IGBT's in my other hobbies.

The HD-DVD ROM drive that was in the player had the following serial number:

I did some reading on the following thread:

http://www.laserpointerforums.com/fo...num=1209940381

From what I read here, I concluded that the sled used in these players (or at least the individual I received) contains the lower power KES-400A 405nm diode...as well as an IR. The model number on the bottom of the sled was DTO811, also indicative of the lower power KES-400. I suppose I will need to keep the current low on this diode if and when I decide to make a blu-ray laser with it. I was hoping to have something experimental to work with, but evidentally this sled has been well categorized by LPF members.

Cheers,
-Brett

the kes 400a is a lower powered diode yes 20-30mw i believe ps3 38-48ma

but the dt811 is a better one comparable to the prh 803-t 60-100mw xbox type 70-110ma

you recieved a good one *;D

Oh, ok...my mistake...I assumed the DT0811 was the sled which carried a KES-400. I thought they were one and the same. Well this is good to hear. On another positive note...I just replaced a dead C-mount in my Aixiz 50mw labby with a 500mw 808 from Snoctony. It fired right up!!! I had tried a 1.2w 808 from Junktronics, but couldn't get it to lase. I may need a higher powered driver, or it could be dead. More on this in another thread.

the kes is a three way diode red i/r bluray 5 pin

the dt is just like a 4x 6x prh 803 3 pin -I believe ive only owned the latter
kinda pricey on the others 4x 6x

Ok, I found even more information about the DT0811 (DT-0811) here:
