There isn't any demand for higher powered 405's so unlikely to see anything much more than what we have today. I find 405 quite bright, but only with UV interference.

445 465 520 532 635 is better than 405nm. powerful! bright! long lifetime!
everything is good :D. But it will come out better UV. maybe... after more 3y?
i just after University graduate. welcome 405nm :)

Look into luminous efficacy. It shows you why lasers closer to green are brighter. Rather than more powerful 405's, we are more likely to see a viable uv laser diode, which would improve data storage.
