hey everyone today i got my driver in the mail and as soon as i got it i started the build and have great results i set it below 500mA to be safe. AND IT BURNS :D

This is a awesome laser i love burning stuff with it ohh by the way do i need a heatsink?

Haha, Nice build!

Well, yes you will need a heatsink if you don't wanna burn out your diode and about the current your running it at, Do you have exact measurments? these diodes are supposed to be run at around 150ma :)

i only put it on for less that 1 minute so its not urgent to get a heatsink it running around 180mA i turned the pot down now and it have like 5-6 sec to burn

5-6 seconds to burn? Turn that pot up a tiny bit :)

Do you have a testload that you can use to measure current?

When i saw 500mA i :drool:
Make or buy a testload to make sure you wont kill any diodes.(at least from over-current)
Also about the heatsink, it is a MUST. No matter what.

actually more like 120ma if you actually gave this 500ma it would be dead.....

anyways congrats on the first build

no guys you understanding wrong i set it below 500mA i said and for the heat sink can i just put it around the aixiz module?

PHR's top out at around 120mA. If you drive them past that, they go poof. The fact that yours is still alive means your below that.

100-110mW with a good lens is about all you'll get out of one. They're good 'first builds' since they're dirt cheap, however if you want to 'burn', you'll quickly outgrow it.
