Hi everyone! I've tried the search button, but to no avail.

but o-like seems to have all the parts for a blu-ray laser build(besides host.)
does anyone know if this is a good idea? I'm new to building, and have a pretty small budget($75) and I'd like it to be a powerful burner, for sure. Would o-like e a good option?...please give me suggestions. I like the 405 nm color, alot. What are your opinions? I've seen jayrobs builds, but they seem to get a little expensive..well, what I've seen.

I would skip the O-like 405nm build parts. O-Like is good for green modules and assembled lasers, thats it.

You can do allot better here with LPF members
Buy a rkcstr micro drive $13
Buy a phr diode includes housing from High Tech Deals $19.83
You can contact Ehgemus and ask him to make you a host for a rkcstr driven diode, using 2 rcr123 3.7v cells. last time I bought from him he was charging about $40.
Figure in shipping charges and your just a little above $75 but you will have a much better laser

Okay, thanks! Here's what I bought:
From modwerx: Laser driver "dummy" load (test red or blu-ray)

From hightechdealz:405nm PHR-803T Blu Ray Diode in Aixiz Laser Module Housing

And from rkcstr: a micro drive
I'm using a standard project box, from radioshack. I'll post pictures when I'm done!:)
