Yes, the host is nice, and waterproof also.

It would be interesting to see this laser with 450-500mW :eg:

Is an interesting idea, maybe one of these days I try changing the driver and give some more power a this laser :eg: :eg:

If I have the 200mW new-style Dilda 405nm, is the 400mW worth it?

Yes and no. Is your dilda actually 200mW?

If yes, than the answer is no, the 400mW torch isn't worth it. If no, you might want to give it a shot.

Personally if I were you I'm PM lazeerer - he's gonna be building some 405's soon. Or put up a WTB thread in the BST section.

Most of these torches seem to come in at well below 400mW - mine was ~310mW or so. Many get in the ~350mW range.

300mW of 405nm does produce a beam, but not a great beam... for that you need 500mW+ imho.

if you got the 405 dilda from DX, then it is only around 100mw (someone measured it here)
but the red is pretty up to spec, some even over

I don't know why people stick to O-like, while Lazerer has the same laser in stock now at the same price.

Bought one from him, arrived within a week, overspec, peaks at 388mw.

Great burner, can light a match 9 meters distance.

^^^Inertia. However for me, the order of preference for cheaper companies is lazerer.com (very happy with them so fary), o-like (not so happy), rayfoss(seems like they've gone way downhill).

@snoutke

The same price, yes and no, because the laser you say, does not bring battery and charger.

The charger is crap, not worth it even for free. Battery is also not that great... not totally useless though.

If o-like offered to lpm ALL their lasers for $2... they might win some customers back, but at this point I see no reason to go to them. They want business, let them improve.

If someone is willing to guarantee the output for me, although I have to pay extra 2$, that means a lot to me, much more than a crappy charger and a battery that are given 'for free'.

You really don't want all the hassle that is involved with sending back a laser to O-like, believe me.

^ What I said is what I meant, nothing more.

I did not say if the charger or battery is bad or good, or anything else.

(That by the way, the battery and charger proposed optional by Lazerer is the same).

I bought in the 2 companies, and I know the good, and bad things firsthand.

Luckily I have not had to return anything to any of the 2 companies, and also I know, in most cases depending the value of the object,
it is better not to do it for the expenses associated.

If you ask me "now" which of the two companies to choose, of course "in this moment" without hesitation I choose to Lazerer.
