Unfortunately you've got one of those cameras that makes the beam look blue instead of violet. Unlike my S10 which captures the violet color a bit better :p

Good job on the pointer tho. How warm does it get, and have you burned it in? For my 803t based pointer I left it on continuously for over 2 hours and the housing got slightly warm, but the diode was fine. I'm not certain if the manufacturer burns the diodes in, but in my experience if they survive the first 5-10 hours of use they last a long time.

Apparently some of the new burning bluray diodes being developed work very well at high temperatures - better even than the now mature red diode technology. Good news for pointer use.

My camera doesn't pick the beam at all.  :-[

I also tried it with my Sony Nightshot high 8 cam, it also picks it up quite well. Although there is no noticable difference between the regular and nightvision settings.

It doesnt warm up at all, I will be doing a little more fine tuning adjustments and ramp the power up a little more. I just wanted to play it on the safe side, trying out a new driver and all. I must say I am very pleased with this driver, I like the slight delay on initial power up and the stable output. My camera does pick up more blue than anything, but I dont mind it all that much, it only seems to be an issue in certain shots. When I take my pics with a spinning mirror there seems to be less blue and more violet. Either way you still lose the sharpness and true effect with the camera anyway.

Great work wannaburn. Is the heatsink made out of aluminium?

Just wondered though... after seeing so many DIY blu-rays, what exactly is the divergence on that thing?
