I already modified my PS3 bluray to its peak range of current, it seems it is a freak BRLD, i dont know why it light the match, i dont have any laser power meter to test it, so i dont know what was the mW of this, im just using basic DDL driver and 3 rcr123a input, i dont test the current flow by DMM, i just adjust the pot near the edge. im using 10ohm resistor and a 100ohm pot. can any body explain to me why this happen? Please. anyway im using this project about 3 weeks on daily basis. Thanks.

OMG! I have no idea how it can do that.It works as well as my phr diode, if the match is about the same as the ones I use. :-/

Also the beam apears to be curiously thin for a bluray and appears unfocused, or is it just me? :-/

Anyway, your avatar is awesome. :D

thanks Switch, i dont have any tester for the beam output power and i dont even test mA coming through the diode so i assume that i got a freak BR diode from PS3,only got 10ohms and a trimpot, i tried to adjust a bit the mA from the 317 driver cuz i know it is possible to get the peak output of it cus it has a thick aluminum heatsink in it and fit it well to the brass fitting i made, until now that's doing well, but im planning to order a PHR803T so i can compare the difference.
here's the image of my DIY PS3 laser host. BTW my avatar was actually "ME" ;D i hold my 80mW Green Laser Pointer, my DIY 20xLG Open Can DVD Laser, and My ??mW DIY PS3 Bluray Laser , i make a design mask out of my face so no body will know who i am really, just for security purpose, i know you know what im talkin about, just being safe man ;) :)
