That's some fine machine work you've done :gj: at 110mA, with stock aixiz lens, you're probably getting ~90mW.

I'll take one! PM me if you want to sell that host! (obviously not that exact one... but a new one!)

That's quite the one of the more awsome things I've seen in my life, the brass contact and all, may I only ask how come you joined on Dec in 2008 and kept quite until now?

I was just thinking about making my own host for a GGW. :D Definitely an inspiring piece of work here. Good job!

Thanks everyone. :D

Nice job. I'd like to see more brass, it makes a good contrast.

Sure, I will definitely consider that. Would you like to see the entire host in brass?

Don't think I ever did the "intoduce yourself" thing when I joined? I'm from CPF & modding flashlights is what I do. To me building a laser is much like a flashlight, so any laser I do would probably be based on a flashlight much like many of the mods I see here. This one here is actually SureFire E-series compatible.

Didn't realize it was that long ago when I joined here. I purchased two Kryton (IIRC) bodies off someone on CPF. Knowing nothing about laser I came here. I built one of them & did some minor machine work to the body & gave it to my buddy, the first laser I ever built. The one here is my second. Still have to do something with the other one.

If anyone is interested, some of my work (CPF):

Thank you but I'm only a rookie, have only been machining for less than 2 yrs, there's people far more exotic at maching than my simple grooves. ;)
I definitely plan on making some more. I've decided to take some time off offering mod services so as soon as I clear out work pending I will start working on the next one. Will be a while but I'll be sure to post.

I'm still learning & going through the threads here......What diode/driver should be next? So far I really like the Dr Lava drivers.

There is more than just grooves in that host, that is incredibly clean looking. It is obvious you took your time and planned that out rather well.

Did you use anything to model the host or did you just go at it? I'm also interested in what you use to make it, are you using a mini lathe by chance?

+rep for an amazing build!

Thanks

If you mean like a rendering or drawing, no I did not make a model of it with CAD or anything like that.

The tools? I used a BFH (big f&%#*n hammer), a chisel, & a Dremel. :eg:

Did not make this one on the mini lathe although it would have done the job fine, just would have taken a lot longer to do. Ever since I got the new lathe I have not touched the mini.

I have an 8x14 & a 12x36
