My first laser build with VIDEO

what is used in this laser:

PHR 803T diode
Aixiz module
LM317T
10 ohm resistor
47 microfarad capacitor
4 AA batteries
Momentary switch




So here's my question, what kind of flash light host could i use for this? I'm going to switch to a different type of batteries, maybe rechargeable, maybe regulars... The reason i'm asking this question is because, as you can see, i made my own driver, and it's output is nonadjustable, since it is outside of the Aixiz module, it will take up more space. And the driver has a max current output of 125mA to protect the LD from doing something crazy. So could i connect a 9 volt battery to this set up (in the video) and it will work just fine??? what's my limits with battery choice... a rough estimate would be appreciated!

It's running off of 6 volts, right? It's to my understanding that the lm317t needs 3.0 volts to work properly, and blue ray diodes need about 5 volts, meaning that it would need a minimum of 8 volts input with that driver. Anything less, and the current basically becomes unregulated (not that it hurts the diode, just that it's not getting enough power)

Yeah, i just read on rog8811's website that for a Blue Ray diode, i should use a 10 ohm resistor (i knew that when i built it) and the voltage was just i had at the time... Then i decided to finish reading the website for other advice and saw that he says a 9v battery is the best source of power for them...

And thank you again Schnoogledeck for the info that the current becomes unregulated but harmless to the diode... i'll have that thing running on a 9v asap and i'll have it burning shit pretty soon...
