Ok, i got this sick setup from kendall at hightechdealz.com for my first burner. Its a 6x blu-ray in an aixiz with a module all assembled and ready to go. After i had my fun with it, i turned it on again and there was a ton of side splash from the dot and I really couldn't focus the beam that well. Im barely able to burn anything and when I take the front lens off the beam is in a large circle with sploches of bright light well the rest is dimmer. Can somebody please help, this is my first laser and I don't know what to do.

BTW: It was heatsinked with a pocket mini heatsink.

I couldnt tell you. Is there a way I could check?

Edit: Heres the pics of the beam spread out, then without the lens entirely.

When i do look at the diode there is a small dot on the glass, hmmm. Would it be safe to lightly touch it with a towel or something?

Hmmm. It's possible that the glass on the diode or the lense is simply dirty.

Maybe try to clean them with a q-tip?

BTW, I don't know if its safe to try and touch the glass on the diode to clean it.

Anyone know?

I have cleaned them with a q-tip before. Be sure not to apply any pressure though.
