Looking For a Blue-Ray DLL driver values

Well i am sitting here with my new laser diode and heatsink and thinking.
The flexdrives wont be in for a long time and I want to play with it now ::) so I am looking for a blue ray DLL driver for a 9V battery( I am hoping for an out put of around 100ma).
I thought I saw a topic on this recently but I could not find it.
Also I was hoping I could buy all the stuff from my local radioshack but I can order the parts from some where else.

My new glasses chilling with my laser and sweet keyboard. ;D

rkcstr sells drivers for reds and blurays.... u should contact him ;)

well I could do that but then i also need new batteries for the build and I would rather not spend the money on that
also is all i need for the DLL driver, 9V for a blur ray and to set the pot differently?

as far as i am informed the only difference you should make for a br ld is the input voltage.

the ddl circuit regulates the output current via resistors, the input voltage should be (at least) 3v higher than the desired output voltage.

you should look into this, esp. post #4:

so sumary for BR DDL driver is replace a 2x 10ohm resistor with 2x 15ohm ???? is it right???

no.

you gotta go back to the basics. when you wire two resistors in parallel the formula for the resistance over all is:

(R[sub]1[/sub]+R[sub]2[/sub])/2

for more than two it would be:

(R[sub]1[/sub]+R[sub]2[/sub]+...+R[sub]n[/sub])/n

simply: 2x10ohm -> 5ohm, 2x15ohm -> 7,5ohm

if you are not familiar with that you should seriously consider
a) visit physics class more often (if you are still in school)
b) get a book about this stuff
c) buy a preassembled, nonadjustable, preset driver for your ld

i'm pretty sure you will fry it otherwise...

which would give you nice and safe 83mA for the diode. sounds good, IMHO you should get some resistors with lower values, because i guess that you will want to turn it up ;)

still waiting for my LDs from drew, got the parts for adjustable drivers already... so then i can give you first-hand-experience.

Well it is what I will try using a test load. I should be able to tell you if it worked later today if my Radioshack has the parts I need.

well maybe you should consider to be little bit more regardful as i am asking because i am total lama in this things and i have no idea how to follow any scheme...
i would appreciate if you could post some picture or some exact instruction how to build this driver easily and in a way which is simple to understand for everyone instead of giving me advice which are not helplul...
i just would like to build driver fof my laser and i dont need to read a books about this as i am not going to build or create difficult circuit boards and i think that i will not use this knowleadge in my life so i dont need to understand to this things so deep as you do...
;)

i think that you could learn us lot of things about it as it is evident that you understand it very well..

so sumary for BR DDL driver is replace a 2x 10ohm resistor with 2x 15ohm
I am pretty sure that you can use 1 X 10ohm instead of the 2 shown in the diagram(which is for the SenKat red).
You will still have the 100ohm pot to set the desired ma, the fixed res is there to stop you going too high by mistake.

Following a circuit diagram is an art you should be able to quickly learn by doing Your first build, I would assume you are going to build it on a piece of vero board?
I will add a schematic for it later.

I used an LM317, an 100 ohm pot, 1 3.9 ohm resistor, 1 n4001 diode, a 46[ch956]F 16V capacitor and some short wires. My driver has been set to 100 mA exatcly and the output voltage is 8.20-9.25. This driver is really easy to be made. If you understand the diagram I am sure you won't face any problems except for the soldering part. Btw, I used a stripboard.

ok, i don't want to start a flamewar here, but why is that i explain and give links and resources and people still complain?

as you can see from my profile i'm new to this forum too. i read easily 20 hours+ on this forum since my registration (six days ago), and so that's what i know. everything from here, and maybe two hints from google. i guess that should be reproducable.

i told you everything you needed to know, and i was serious about you learning at least ohms law, because otherwise you will have to open a new thread for every single move you want to make while building a driver. and i don't think you will get very far with that. call me arrogant but that is how it works.

as i pointed out in reply #4, i would suggest you to read the first few pages. they will answer a lot of your questions, i know that because i read it just 3 days ago. i can not and will not summarize that information here. there is another thread on how to test the circuit, but i can assure you that you won't be able to do this without enlarging your knowledge, and this is not meant as an offensive, it's just a fact.

you can't get it more detailed unless you have someone coming to your house and do it on your desk.

there are more than enough pictures in this forum, i can't think of anything that hasn't been drawn here. if you would just look into the thread for the driver, there are at least THREE different drawings for this circuit.

and again, i don't want to offend you, and i don't know everything, but i know what i learned from reading here. and that how it works, it has been said here and in basically every other diy-forum a gazillion times: do your homework!

if you want to build the circuit for building it, then learn how it works. if you need the circuit for powering up a laser and have no interest how it works get a preassembled one, it will be easier for all of us and will save you money. again, no offense. you are welcome to ask questions here that are somewhat specific and have not been answered several times.

and like i said before: hope this helps, lotta stuff to read. and i mean it like that. believe it or not.

kendon, based on question which you can read from me you can think that i am total idiot or imbecile, but you are wrong.. trust me that during last month what i am here i have learned lots of facts..
i know each video on youtube how to build this driver and i know each picture on this forum how this driver looks like, but i didnt find how it sould looks for BR...
But rog8811 cleared it for me now once and fof all.. ;)

your answer could be simply for me - use 10ohm resistor only..

on the other hand you are right in everything what you mentioned above, but what i wanted to know was only two things..
1. which parts do i have to use for BR driver - Rog8811 gave me the answer and draw a great picture wchich will be here for other people not only for me..
my reason for asking was because most of  the time when i am looking somethig on the forum i will just get links for a thread where you can find stuff about it, because it was answered already..

it is great that anybody find an old thread about something what you are looking for and help you, but i was asking something what wasnt answered at all.. i know that by reading a stuff on which you provided a links i could answer my queries by myself, but i think that now this stuff will be here for everyone else who will need it and there will be no need to start new topic like RANCOR did it...

but you are still right, it is better to educate about it and then it is easy to understand, but consider a fact that for me is not everything so easy - my signature described it enough i think.. sometimes i have really big problem to describe what i want to ask as i dont know exact terminology and my questions are not clear..

but i still think that my question wasnt so bad as now there is brand new schema with a DDL circuit for a Blu-ray and that is exactly what i wanted to reach and to know..

2. second thing what i wanted to know about this circuit was how to  build it without a board..
as i mentioned few lines abowe i have no problem to follow an assembled picture or video on youtube of this circuit, but i would like to build it without a board and i have no idea how to follow bare scheme..
