Anyone got any advice on how to get the diode & heatsink out of the sled housing? The sled's from the LG BH08LS20. I've pretty much stripped it of everything else.

Just above the diode's heat sink is a little "notch" in the sled body. Cut through the body there. I simply use a small set of nippers, but a small saw or file would work as well. Once you have the body cut through, use a screwdriver blade to spread the notch apart. You should be able to push the heat sink with the diode still in it out of the body now.

There is some "glue" holding it in so give it a push. Just be careful to only push on the heat sink and be steady enough not to slip!

I figured that out before you posted, Dave. However I think I damaged the diode because I got about 65mW through a 405-G-1 lens at the 290mA current setting.

At least it's better than the 5mW I got last time. I need to get better at diode harvesting.
