Yep, that is one volt too many, I really don't recommend it, the current will go through the roof. You don't need to test each diode quickly, take your time. A DDL driver set to 15-10mA for red and 30-40mA for blu should do fine. Put a 2000 ohm resistor across the capacitor on the driver and extend the the leads from the driver to the diode with wires and SOLDER onto each diode you're testing. It will take time, but it is a good way to test the diodes. Also a recommended way of properly set the blu diodes is to carefully turn up the current till it's lasing threshold, then add 10mA to that for a long good life. :)

Thanks for the corrections :D!

Oh also, don't forget to cut power then connecting/disconnecting the diodes. And just to be extra safe short the wires before connecting to the diode, thought it should not be necessary with the 2000 ohm resistor.
Ah, damn! Another thing; these diodes are VERY ESD-sensitive, so hook yourself to ground while handling the diodes, and don't touch any electrical connection while it's running.

Hey... there is this black Focus Lense-moving-thing inside the Sled, som sort of spring loaded linear motor. Can we use this as a shutter? power off = laser ray cut

I actully saw those and removed them whole and saved them. But I couldn't think of any use for them... Maybe that is a good idea... that whay when you turn the power off it automatically springs back. What device are you thinking of using it as a shutter for?

For a scanner as safety feature...
mounting a piece of black not-melting material; or a mirror that directs the beam to a energy absorber or something.

Yeah I got a few questions. Has anyone here made a magenta laser by lasing both the red and the blu-ray? I tried doing it this way: http://www.laserpointerforums.com/forums/YaBB.pl?num=1226827066 but I never got it to work. My question is, how much mA should I set the DDL driver to? I tried it w/ it set at 125mA and only the red light VERY slightly. I KNOW my wiring is correct and I tried doing them separately and I got them to work, but together I couldn't get it to work.

Nice idea... it would be tricky to work out though.
