Another happy customer, received 2 yesterday (less than €14), way more than 5mw for sure and both were very close to each other with one ever so slightly brighter by eye. Now to work out how best to break into one of them, anyone ripped one open yet? I bought 2 with the plan to kill one but if anyone can advise the best way to get in it would be great.

Cheers.

i did and destroyed 2 out of my 5. they are glued with some very tough adhesive.

on another note.. im hoping im just going crazy.. but i can swear that in one of the pens i put new batteries and when i came back to use it 4 -5 days later . the batteries were dead.

it eating batteries when not in use is not a good thing.

pot modding one of the modules helped very little. them seem to be set at the highest the driver will give it.

ahh, thanks for the tip, this was the main reason for getting in - too see if I can get a bit more power so if it is not worth the effort I may just use the front end of the host inside my scanner as is. Thanks.

not bad for the price!

I got one of those. 47 mW but here's the problem....... Blu needs to be focused and these (mine) is focused out some distance. They won't burn up close. They are still a good deal for the power.

I don't know much about blu-ray and how it is as far as burning abilities compared to say green. So I guess my question is, what could 47mw even burn in relation to spot surface area?

Green I know wont do too much, though I have heard blu-rays burn better.

Thanks,

Slip,

Would it be possible to adjust focus on these without pushing the diode/driver out? Is the silver tip threaded or an interference fit?

Thanks

If you can take the Silver tip off you will see a threaded nut that
has a slot for adjusting the lens in and out...
There is a red thread sealer that will need to be broken...

Once you can focus the beam to a pin point it will burn...
I've burnt raw pine wood with a focused 30mW Blu-Ray

Hey Guys...

a few weeks ago I stumbled on a 5mW 405nm Blu-Ray Pen style
pointer on LPF and went on eBay and bought 2 of them...
(after reading a thread by Slipstream)

5mW 405nm Blue Violet Purple Beam Laser Pointer Pen on eBay.ca (item 180437058764 end time 24-Dec-09 17:24:15 EST)

I put them on an LPM and one puts out 32mW while the other puts
out 36mW with the 1.5Volt AAA batteries supplied...

Very nice rubberized Black type of coating on the pen's exterior..
I think this is a great 30-35mW Pen style Pointer for $10.37US
delivered...

Jerry

Are these the same pens from 'etimeshop' that are now $3.39?

thanks,
Chuck

I bought a laser pointer off of an ebay seller in Louisiana. It took 2 day to get to California. I paid $15 with shipping. I hope its not a cheap laser pointer. My green laser pointer lost its ability to focus after a while
