Help needed with ma/mv settings

Hi, I have put together a laser using a DDL driver and the diode from one of these UDO drives.
I have it set at 50mv (50mah) at the moment its working fine.

But could anyone tell me by looking at the specifications (read/write speed) of the drive, what would be a safe limit to run the diode at?

if it is an 8x like i think it is, then 250ma should be safe. if you want to run lower ma and still get good power then use the G1 modified ar glass lens from jayrob. but wait for some more anwers, i'm not 100% about the write speed.

I dont think its anywhere near a 8X, the UDO drive has a Max. Sustained Write Transfer Rate 4MB/s, I think 8X is much more than this??

maybe i mis read but i thought the spec shows yours at 8mb/sec. with max of 12?

edit* i did mis read. i went to the actual website and didn't read on your udo drive. yours is a 4mb write and 8mb read..
