My latest 6x build using the lava drive set at 209mA... LED

I had this at a somewhat reserved run time 2min on 1min off
totalrun time 45min :( I would say that is a runt...

Just posting this so it could be added to the knowledge pool

Josh

don't feel to bad I know that that is a little on the high side for these
and I hve others of the same make...

If I should send the diode to anybody for testing PM me...

The current is a touch on the high side ("safe" is around 190mA according to other posts here), the duty cycle is pretty heavy (1 min on, 2-3 mins off would be more standard). The remaining question: what kind of heatsink did you use?

Mine is set at 200mA, and has been running fine on 1min on 1min off approx. 5 hours runtime, Like jay said, "What heatsink are you using" that could be the problem. Or at least the most obvious one.

That could prelude to the problem. I just before it croaked adjusted the depth that it was sitting in the sink...

I thought about that, but before I posted I also thought about the
heatsink it never got warm to the touch in the first place...;)

You sure it was a H20L and not a SF210? Because I have not heard of a "true" 6X failing at 209mA, what heatsink where you using, like a Jayrob or Darkhorse sink?
