- Finished Build - 405nm

Here's some pics of my first build.

a simple 20mW 405nm, not the tiniest enclosure, but it works for me.

Thank you to all who helped me out with my electronics questions etc. this forum has been a huge wealth of information. couldn't have done it without you LPF.





I used the DDL driver
Laser driver - It can be done

and by some great fluke, my old Nikon 7.4V 650mah camera batteries happened to fit perfectly into the enclosure I bought.

just gotta print up some warning labels next.

Very nice! It's always good to see a beginner's DIY laser with a DIY driver.

Don't be ashamed of square project boxes, I have about six lasers built in to them. Getting boxes long enough to contain the entire module helps make it streamlined though.

Nice build. My first laser was a 100mW 405nm too. I used a Project box also.

The box is pretty neat, lose the lower part of the aixiz u dont need it, just place the module into it and apply epoxy from the inside. It would make it look streamlined and neat!!

I like the project box builds and custom builds alike, i dont know why!!

The hind section of the module does offer some added heatsinking, which may be an issue if they were to remove it. Still, I say that project box was too small (or the battery too big) and a real heatsink should have been used.
