Hello LPF,
new member here, I recently attempted to begin my laser hobby(/obsession) by building a PHR803 blu ray laser using the diode, laser focusing module and driver all from modwerx. After recieving my parts I carefully soldered the leads onto the driver, but in my inexperience, screwing the azxis module back together, I snapped both the positive and negative lead off of my beautiful (now useless) diode.
My question is simple, am I screwed? I am not completely against purchasing a new diode, but I thought I'd at least ask if anyone has any bright ideas. I tried inserting paperclips into the holes and supergluing them in the precise location to avoid a short circuit, but was unsuccessful. Should I try this again?, should I try some other great idea?, should I just give up and buy a new diode, and be a hell of a lot more careful the next time?
any advice/comments is greatly appreciated!

Try to solder the pins or new pins back on ????

I am still waiting for my phr and other items needed for my first build.
This is the exact thing i was afraid of lol. Snapping the pins or sumthing of the diode.
Which is why i bought the pre assembled diode/module lol

EDIT: Post some pics of the diode.

I'm sure drew hooked you up already, but if not first don't feel to bad I think we
all did this at least one time. Secondly just order another one now... heck get 2
cause attemping to reconnect the pins after total shear off is futile.

practice makes perfect.:)

modwerx or darklasers are good options to get a preasambled diode ;)

I think you may need to be registered on the Modwerx site for
the Discount code to work... I may be wrong...

If all else fails....Ask Drew...
