Its almost done i am just waiting for my flex drive to arrive the diode is a LG BH08, its installed in the aixiz housing, the heatsink was made my Jayrob and may i add he did a great job very clean work, Also i got one of Jayrob's 405 glass lenses. and the front of my heaysink glows in the dark and the host is a led lenser 612193 is the model #. Great host very solid has nice weight to it and also has gold plated battery contacts, tail clicky switch but its is a very stiff ( in a good way) switch so it can't be turned on accidentally ! The flex drive will be set to: 310mA and with the glass low loss lense it will be pushing a little over 400mW i will post the finished laser when i get the flex drive.

Did the glow part come with the flashlight host or did you buy it/make it seperately? It's looks awesome! If you combine it with a glow in the dark dust cap the whole front will be glowing =D

Congrats on your build, remember to post some pics when you finally get it working :)

Really cool pictures of it glowing!

Please tell us how you did that if it is not paint?

I have some of that glow paint, but I don't really like it for something like a nice clean surface, because it is basically just glow powder mixed in some clear acrylic and dries with a 'rough' finish. Like fine sand paper...

So what's the trick? Please... :D

I'll bet you have some of that glow paper with the sticky back huh? (peel off) I've got some of that stuff, but it would need to be cut very clean to the edges to look right. (which would be easy with an X-acto blade - just stick it to the heatsink face, and trim)

Hi Jay, if you are looking for some good glow paint I would recommend the stuff they have at GloMania. It has a nice soft, rubbery feel to it when it dries and the glow is very powerful :)

But I agree.. dieselmarine please tell us the secret of your awesome glowing heatsink!

I will take the glowing heatsink secret to the grave.. LOL
just joking Jayrob hit the nail on the head its a sticker I peeled
off the one side an layed the sticker over the heatsink and trimmed it up with an x-acto knife

The glow powder with epoxy doesn't dry with a rough finish. It is smooth. The only problem, sometimes, is consistency. The glow paper is a nice touch.

Yes, that paper is a great idea...

I'm going to have to try that now. I've got a bunch of that 'sticky back' glow paper just sitting.

Great idea dieselmarine!
