Is this a decent laser?

ive heard good things about techhood but how will you be able to tell if its 200mW or not? You cant since you dont have a LPM. i suggest you buy one from a member here or buy one from lazerer and buy the output chart so you can see exactly what your laser is doing for power. btw no two lasers are the same, they all act different so even if i buy one and get a 250mW laser, you could buy from the same seller and get a 150mW laser. all diodes have different efficiencies unfortunately.

I bought a laser that looks exactly like the one you are postin in ebay, it's a 532nm, so that makes it a bit different than yours. It was sold to me for >500mw and it shure was.... I still have to get my LPM that is probably going to be here next week but judging from a comparison with a 200mw one I bought here from a forum member I would say that mine is probably 50mw at most (if not less).

So my suggestion is, buy here in the forum from someone that can actually proove his power output. It might be more expensive than getting a ebay laser but what you are getting is what you pay for, not what you "think" you are paying for.

A 200mW violet (405nm) should produce a weak beam. you may want more power, unless you are only after the dot. I have a ~500mW violet, the beam is even harder to see than that of my 300mW 660nm. I think even my 5mW 532nm has a more visible beam, and it is pulsed, not constant wave

My 405nm cost me ~$110, I got it from Blord as my sig states. Can't go wrong with him.
