You can buy a ready made module from 'daguin' for $35.00 & I can sell you a brand new Dorcy Jr. light with a FULL-BODY Dark_Horse Heat-Sink for $50.00. After that it would be a snap to put it together.

I can't decide what to do. I want to have a PHR laser (using the dorcy tutorial from i-hacked), but I have no soldering skills whatsoever. How much of an undertaking would this be? Would it be better just to buy the parts for someone to build it here?

Or, a rkcstr driver instead of a flexdrive would be 16, and you could make a heat sink out of washers for under 1$. Plus, you could use any DX LED flashlight as a host (probably MDXL). So the acual cost could be:

rkcstr driver:---------------------16.00$
MDXL host:-----------------------5.00$
"homemade" heatsink"----------<1.00$
diode:-----------------------------13.00$
AxiZ:------------------------------4.50$
Total: 39:50

Or you could build it in a simple labby, project boxes are under 10$ from Radio Shack. Then you could just use a breadboard; no soldering required. ;)
