Hey fellas,
Previously i had been making lasers with stainless steel tubing and even a robot with a 3 lasers found here. and a simple yet unique stainless host found here. but i wanted to use a host we see on here on a regular basis. i really like the Cree XML T6. so i chose it for my S06J 12x 405 diode.

READY. SET. GO!

(sorry for the intense bright light i know its hard to see)
I'm not sure how you built yours but i wanted to build mine in one piece.

I cut the back of the module off to save some space then soldered the driver leads to the blank, soldered the spring from the old Cree driver to the (+)battery contact, pushed the wires in the cavity and secured the blank to the pill.

threaded this beast in through the front then the silver ring.

...and BOOM done in about 35mins

So far in testing @ 450ma with a 3 element lends im getting 500mw on average and with a G2 i get about 638mw.

Oh disregard that weird LED thing i didn't notice it was in the photo till just now. yes that's a toothbrush head glued to it. long story..

I like this host. its cheap, easy to modify, i used the original pill and looks cool.
have you used this host? what did you do different?
