My Blu-Ray laser just Died!!!!!!!!!! :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

I was playing around with my negative ion generator and my Blu-Ray Laser trying to create conductive paths through ionized air and electric fields and stuff like that. I have the ion emitters targeted at a DMM. The negative ions had an affect on the voltage reading of the DMM. Then I grabbed my blu-ray to see if that made an effect across the electrodes. When nothing happened. I thought "Hey lets try them both". I stupidly exposed my beloved blu-ray module to a dense cloud of negative ions and then... and then....
Noooooooooo!!
:'( :'( :'(

I completely overlooked the static sensitive nature of diodes. I hope the driver is ok. It was such a good diode too!

Don't put you lasers next to an Ionic Breeze!

I had another sled and I replaced the diode. I don't think it's the same mW though. :-/ IDK why. It just doesn't seem as bright. I'm getting tired of the 803T, time for a 6X! ;D

The PHR does exhibit this type of variability. Not only might the output be different (at the same current) from diode to diode, the "appearance" of brightness will also vary with the differences in wavelength.

guys how to protect myself aganist static electricity, which could kill a diode.. i saw one video where guy said that he is grounded with something attached on his leg.. but how????  could you explain it for me please :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/
