well if these(803T) are safe to crank up to 125 or 150, what mW output would you see at

125?
150?

It's impossible to tell for sure, what the power will be at a certain current.. I tested 23 diodes so far, all at the same current of 109mA. I got almost every value from 71 to 95mW. Most were between 80 and 90mW.. When i drive them all at 125mA, i got different results, from what i expected.. Some which were close at the beginning, during the lower current test, were then further appart. And some with low power during the test, went higher than others with a higher power during the test.

Each is a little different, and power vs. current is not linear all the way.

I found one, that did 98mW during the test, and 120mW at 125mA. Then i upped this to 143mA, and it did 130mW, then 160mA, and i got 142mW (i think), but later i measured again, and it was 135mW.. This doesn't make much sense at this point.. Need to lower the current back to 143mA, and see what i get then.

About longevity.. With the reds i built, if i did not go over a certain current, they just kept on going.. Over that current, and they die... If these are as sturdy as the early 16x reds, it could be the same.. If we figure out an average dieing current, it might be possible to power them at 20-30mA less, and they would still have a long life. Long enough for you to get bored of it, so it could outlive you in the end.. ;)

At the moment, it would seem like under 200mA could even turn out to be safe in the end. Or maybe under 190mA. But it's impossible to tell for sure just yet.

I found several weaker diodes during testing of the entire batch, so i'll use those for testing what they can take. The diodes, that came out below 78mW during the test, will be hooked up to three different very high currents, and left on for a long time. Let's see what happens.. I'll definitelly try to push them to the limits. As soon as i have some time to play, that is.. :(

How much for one or two of the PHR-803T sleds? Your web site does not show their price. I sent an email to the order-jp@laser-jp.com, but it would be nice that we all knew. ;)

i think in another thread someone said $22 each and a minimum order of 10 ... some of the people on the board are selling them for like $25 each that bought from this person/company

That is correct, she replied and I was going to share the information, which is exactly what you mentioned.

I already put my request for two on that particular group purchase :)
