Just curious what did you want to use this for? And I have never ordered from DX but did you know they don't ship lasers over 5mw to the US?

473nm uses A DPSS crystal and an IR pump diode to make the blue color. The 405 is a DVD burner diode. There is a lot more involed in making the 473 than the 405. Buy what you like.

Fortunately I am not from the US, and I already ordered a 200mW red and 50mW greenie with success.
I have a blackled flashlight (also from DX) which is very funny, I expect the 20mW blacklaser will not show its beam (due to low senitivity of the eye to 405nm) unless there is lots of dust, I think it will show blue (due to fluorescence) and pointing it to a white sheet it will show a bright blue spot as a blacklight lamp lights up white stuff.
Real fun.

I assume you are trying to get a review for this laser? It is most likely the diode from a PS3 or it is a PHR. I have never heard it called a black light laser either. So you need some reassurance? Yea $50 is an OK price, but you can build your own PHR for about that same amount and have double(if not more) the power.

Look around the forum. There are a few who sell much more powerful units for a little more and there's others who sell kits if you're into the DIY thing (fun!).
